A war gamming blog on the Cold War in 1/72. Emphasis on plastic figures, and equipment on all sides. Plus a smattering of Pop culture soldiers on both sides of the divide would have enjoyed.

Warsaw Pact: Polish 20th Warsaw Tank Division (20 Dywizja Pancerna) 1985,
This division is fielded on the gamming table as such:
start of a BTR-60 company of the 12th Mechanised Infantry Regiment attached to the 20th Division from the 4th Pomerania Mechanised Infantry Division
and a Carnation battery but these are modeled with Su-100s for the moment. these would be for the 36th Artillery battery
I also now have the cards and the information booklet for this force for the Team Yankee series
Tank Battalion HQ with Division

I also now have the cards and the information booklet for this force for the Team Yankee series
the new Warsaw Pact Artillery Template, which can be used for any side, but this one is in Soviet colours.
As of 12/15/2018, I was able to purchase the Team Yankee Suplement, Polish People's Army, as part of their Warsaw Pact Forces in World War 3 series.
In this game, the idea is that the Poles would attack Denmark and The Netherlands.
As the East German city of Lubeck is on the German border and they would drive through Northern West Germany to invade Jutland, and to also head towards Bremen to drive the Dutch back to their homeland.
The main force for this is the 20th Warsaw Tank Division. As part of the Polish 1st Army, they would be the main force to attack in NORTHAG.
At the moment, my Polish force is small. It contains the elements listed above, but over time, I will build this force up.
The main bits to add will be a T-72 battalion, a BMP and OT-64 companies.
Some anti-tank and Anti-aircraft units will also be added.
Warsaw Pact: Polish 6th Pomeranian Air Assault Division 1988
The 6th Pomeranian Air Assault Division is made up of a company of Airborne infantry. They are fielded as a light unit having no attached armor or artillery.
Pictures to follow.
In time I will be adding some MI-24 Hind gunships to the Division.

Warsaw Pact: Polish 7th Naval Assault Division 1988
The 7th Luzyaka Naval Assault Division which I built consists of the following troops and equipment:
1 OT 62 APC
1 PT-76 Amphibious Tank
1 T-54 Tank
1 SU-100 SP Gun
Infantry consist of 1xRPK, 1xRPG-7,7x AK-74, Officer armed with VZ61,
This division is now attached to the 36th Guards Naval Infantry Regiment.
This ensures that the Soviet and Polish Naval Infantry can be fielded as a Naval Assault Division.
Originally I had modeled this division with the majority of my minature collection, but I have divided these between the 20th Warsaw Division
2020 upgrades to the force include more infantry, an actual BM-21 Launcher

Even more additions to my Cold War kit
One of my good friends was cleaning out his basement and passed over several more ROCO minitank kits.
I now have 3 more M113 APCs, some trucks, and trailers. I can put together some rear echelon stuff, as markers.
Since my friend passed these over to me 4 years ago. (this now being 2020) I have slowly been building these units. With the extra weapons such as mortars, I plan to mock up some of the cargo carriers as emergency self propelled mortars

Northern Norway May 1963
Point Defence is this scenario. A Soviet Airborne Brigade is attempting to capture a Norweigian village to allow the main advance to follow

Soviet Spentznaz begin to attack the village

A good skirmish game. The Norweigeans were able to take out a Soviet company, but with their automatic weapons, the Russians were able to dominate the firefight.
