bits kit bash

I finally got some time to kit bash some stuff from my bits box.
I have gotten an RA Blowpipe section done up with some leftover bits of Spartans.
I also have 2 sections of mortars in m113 tops which will be added to my NATO force. Either the West Germans or Dutch. Once I get the chance, some pictures will be up.
There are a few specific Dutch and West German specific scenarios will follow during my time off from the Covid 19 Pandemic, and with additions to my force for my 47th birthday in May, 2020, I have been able to further increase the mortar batteries.

Encounter: Canadian vs Czechs

The Czech 1st Armoured Division is pushing towards a position held by the Canadian 4CMBG.
In the initial push, the Czechs have charged towards the Canadians
Rememberance day weekend

initial Czechoslovakia deployed, one T-72 already fell victim to a mine.

t-72 company begin to take casualties

Czechoslovakia infantry charge the hill with their BMP-1 giving missile fire, taking out a Roland and a Mortar carrier

additional infantry dismounted waiting to charge with ML 70 battery in support

Royal Canadian Dragoons wait to attack

2RCHA battery waits for a fire order as does PPCLI mortar platoon wait for fire order, a Reservist recce group wait to support

order has been given and the Dragoons charge

Try as they might, the Czechoslovakian force was unable to push the Canadians off. Canada has proven that once again they are a force to be reckoned with.

And the Workers paradise raises more troops

Over the weekend I was able to acquire a set of t72s and Helicopters, some infantry and BMP-1
So my Soviets East Germans Polish and Czechoslovakian armies shall all increase.
My plan is to have each country to field a section of 4 t-72s.
The infantry sections are getting painted and trained up, and with transports!
BMP 1 being built up.
So this coming winter will be spent decals for the vehicles

Czechslovakian RM-70 MLRS

So, my Czechslovakian force now has some serious firepower! The RM-70 MRLS.
The kit has 3 launchers. So, initally, with the skill level of 5, this might make them a force difficult to fight with, however, with the Firepower, they might still be difficult.

The Gaskin and The Spadrel in the Volks Army and Warsaw Pact

Recently, I was able to upgrade my East German, Polish and Czechslovakian forces with the Anti-aircraft units of Gaskins and Anti-tank platoons of Spadrels.

Both systems use the BRDM platform with the weapons systems mounted on top of the vehicles.
Pictures to follow
so far I have built the Gaskins. Just need to give them a spray with the new paint can I got.
Poland and Czechoslovakia will both get a Squadron of Gaskins
The East Germans will have to wait for their equipment from the Soviets.
As if 10/10, 2019 my son and I have built 3 of the Spadrels and a BTR 60. All these kits have been built, and mostly painted, just need to find time to put up some pictures

Iran-Iraq War, 1980-88

This was a conflict of my youth, with the mix of kit i have now, i should be able to throw some actions together, using the Oil Wars supplement to Team Yankee
I have so far been able to acquire Basji Infantry. I'll get a picture up of these soon
With the generic Warsaw Pact infantry I will be able to paint up some Iraqi forces
Further updates to my around Iraq Conflict for Team Yankee include actually painting up the basajis  infantry, which I was able to pick up last fall. And there is also a 106 mm armed Jeep. For this small unit. The regular earring in armies will be made up of G3 arms infantry which are already painted more pictures to follow
As of March, 2020, I also now have the Iraqi unit cards. I shall field the generic Warsaw Pact kit I have for the units.
thos kit I have looked over for about 6 months. I finally bought it.

Battle for bremerhaven August 1985

Soviets and East Germans vs germans and dutch
Warsaw Pact forces advance towards the West Germans and Dutch

a scratch force of US, West Germans and Dutch attempt to hold back the Communist onslaught

Soviet Artillery begins to drop rounds

Ian plans his next move

ensuring that his Artillery has found mine

I attempted to halt his advance by rushing my armor into a breach but I just created a parking lot of knocked out tanks
Warsaw Pact victory but was fun to have an opponent. Ian says he will take me on again.
We also were able to flesh out our understanding of the rules. From what I understand, you only have to do saving throws for infantry stands. Everything else, gets blasted!

Soviet tank Division push on Bremen

Soviets hitting Irish Guards
A Soviet Tank brigade advances towards the British lines

the 17/21 Lancers await the attack first

first contact, an Irish Guards Milan and Carl Gustav team take out some T72s

the Soviets were extremely aggressive and took out the Chieftain tanks quickly
Despite a valiant defense the Irish were defeated, Ian's second victory of the day

Last battle of tank 208, Soviet t72 vs Uk chieftain

My son and I have decided to try out this action as a way to flesh out the rules.

A Soviet T-72 company inches forward

A lone Centurian awaits the Soviets. Having gotten lost in a very quick withdrawl, the commander is giving a Scout briefing to the British units to his rear.
Despite their efforts the crew were forced out,  however they were able to radio of the oncoming advance of Soviet and German forces. The T-72s were fast on the draw. Having come on on the sides, the Chieftian was quickly taken out, however, the crew were able to bail out.

Air Support for NATO and Warsaw Pact

Recently I was able to visit the local aircraft museum which has a wonderful museum of older model kits. I was able to get a Frogfoot jet for my Soviets,
Which is now part of the 1st Assault Aviation Division

an Mi25 Hind Helicopters for my East Germans, a Lynx chopper for my British and I completed a Bloodhound Missle as a game objective. As well as a Harrier.
I was able to build the kits as I has some time while at work to on them while at my guard post.
Pictures will follow
Oh and the 3 Chieftain tanks, now have 7!

BTR 60 APC in the Warsaw Pact

I was able to get a box of these this week. The plan is to see how many metal ones I have and see which countries will be equipped. The East Germans used them, and I'd like to build a Soviet section as well.

286th Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment
The other carriers I'm building up for the East Germans, Polish and Czechoslovakian force
More to follow
Updated for October 2019, now have another 5, so I believe that I now have 10 plastic, a 1/72 plastic and a metal one which I got in Singapore Christmas of 2000. I just have to rebuild it. Or it becomes an objective marker
As of Summer 2020, I now have Motor Rifle Regiments for the Soviets, East Germans, Polish, and Czechoslovakian armies.
