Some shots of battles I've played before

When I get the chance, I will be scanning some pictures I took of some of my NATO/Warsaw Pact back in 2002-2003. These mostly consist of a game I had piting a Brundenveer Falljager Division against 2 mixed Soviet/Warsaw Pact divisions.
The vehicles consist of a mix of Soviet armor which could have still found it's way onto the European battlefields of 1990`s as witnessed by the conflicts in Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia at that time.

The terrain consist of HO/HO scale railroad buildings which were built by Tomix, as well as some European buildings which I picked up about 14 years ago, just before I got married.

As a Soviet observation helicopter flies over the German position, the pilot sees a final flash indicating an anti-aircraft missle approaching. 

Birthday wishes or Christmas presents

Two months to my birthday and I want to see if  can get into Cold War gaming on a limited scale over here. I'll be looking into getting plastic 1/72 figures as well as from Elheim Minatures in the UK. With my impending move back to Canada, I will continuing my war gaming back home!

Luck Dragon Number 5: The Castle Bravo Incident

I visited the Daigo Fukuryu Maru memorial hall on my way home from a Saturday assignment. I have some shots I took. I asked my Japanese mother-in-law is she knew of this, and yes she remembered it, plus one of the last survivors recently passed away. My pictures I will attach later.

Daigo Fukuryū Maru (第五福龍丸^?, S.S. Lucky Dragon 5) was a Japanese tuna fishing boat, with a crew of 23 men, which was exposed to and contaminated by nuclear fallout from the United States' Castle Bravo thermonuclear device test on Bikini Atoll, on March 1, 1954.

Aikichi Kuboyama, the boat's chief radioman, died less than seven months later of liver cirrhosis on September 23, 1954, having suffered along with the 22 other crew members of acute radiation syndrome (ARS) for a number of weeks after the Bravo test in March. Due toARS treatment, the crew began to recover, Kuboyama's cause of death in late September is regarded to have been due to underlyingliver cirrhosis compounded by an infection.^{[1][better source needed]} The majority of medical experts believe that the crew members were infected with hepatitis C through blood transfusions during part of their ARS treatment.^[2] Kuboyama is considered^{[by whom?]} the first victim of the hydrogen bomb of test shot Castle Bravo.^{[citation needed]}

The Cold War that hasn't ended

This week, the world was reminded of the paradox of the ongoing Korean War. Now while many want to fob off North Korea, take a moment to ponder some Cold facts.
Despite the Korean Peoples Armed Forces having Soviet era kit, that stuff can still do some damage.
Their artillery showed back in 2010 that it can still kill and maim and inflict damage.
The fact that they may have nuclear weapons puts a pause to consider that not only South Korea but Japan are also at risk.
Sony is a Japanese company, which Koreans don't have much time for.
Cancelling a movie seems to play into their hands, yet something must have really spooked them.

Since I have returned to Canada, I have been slowly sorting out my Cold War figures, and will hopefully be posting some updated shots of my Belgians for the cold war.

1eme Grenadiers: modeled with ESCI NATO armed with FNs and GPMG
5eme Linge: ESCI NATO armed with FNs and GPMP mounted in M113 when I can get them.
9eme Linge Anti-Tank (Milan system with truck)
Artillery support will come from NATO allies
