Irish Guards and Royal Canadian Dragoons counter attack

The British threw in all the tanks they could muster and called upon the Canadians to lend a squadron.
The Soviets foolishly attacked without infantry support.
Carl Gustav anyone?

Irish Guards Battle group holds Hill 214 against Soviet 8th Guards

17th/21st Lancers with 4 Chieftain tanks are holding Hill 214 with a company of the Irish Guards. As the remainder of the battle group is deployed elsewhere, the equipment is a little sparse. The infantry are mounted in the older Humber Pig AFV.

The Soviets are engaging the British with their newest T-80 tanks. They are supported by a BMP-1

All British armor have been taken out.

Soviets encircle the British

Irish Guards attempt to hold off the Soviet Infantry

Soviets keep coming

Royal Irish Hussars are taking hits

first tank gets taken out

Irish Guards begin to deploy.

The British HQ throws a track having rushed up to the top of the hill

Weapons support team takes position.
The Irish Guards unfortunately had bad communications due to the Soviets jamming the frequency of the British radio net. Many units never moved. They were picked off one by one.
The hill was taken. The Soviets pushed on.

Irish Guards Battlegroup 1985

This force is made up of a variety of units. I have augmented what I have with adhock mix of equipment.
One section is mounted in an FV432 while
mortar platoon

the British battle taxi
others are kitted out in 2 Humber Pigs.

Armored support comes from 17/21st Lancers in a section of 3 Chieftains with a Recce Squadron of Scorpion and Scimitars.
As well a Humber 76mm armoured car adds support.
I have built this force as I have due to the kit I have and also on the assumption that replacement kit would be lacking due to budget cuts and gear in storage.

Additional support is also found with a section of 2 Abbott Self propelled guns.
updates to follow
04/2021.
I've been able to decal the infantry sections and the mortar battery. The other AT sections I've done up in bits.

Romanian Airborne battalion

Due to the Romanian government's need to pay foreign debts, their military is lackig in the latest kit, however, they do have a battalion which can be dropped behind enemy lines.

These troops will find themselves fielded in a large Warsaw Pact Airborne assault.

Bulgarian Airborne battalion

As per my large amount of Warsaw Pact units as Airborne, I have modeled these troops as well.
The Bulgarians however are the lowest on the priority in the purchasing of newer kit, so they may also be fielding ww2 German weapons as well.

British 5th Infantry Brigade, 1982

This was the formation sent to the Falklands. I will also use it as a light infantry brigade/ Battle group for my Team Yankee games in 1/72.
