NATO forces have pulled back to try and repair a number of their tanks and allow logistics to replenish their units.
Several tanks, having lost their tracks to mines, and APCs have lost guns, doors and some kit. Wheeled AFVs have suffered heavily due to Soviet mines scattered by their helicopters and artillery. The Reds are about to come up the road. Those tanks with guns can fire, but without tracks are sitting ducks.
